About the Role:

The Value Chain Expert ensures the AgTech business meets its departmental goals by acquiring and digitally on boarding Smallholder Farmers/Agri-SMEs, providing training, selecting and distributing quality Agri-inputs, supporting SHFs/Agri-SMEs from preparation to harvest, and notifying off-takers digitally. The role includes managing daily SHF activities in the assigned woreda/ kebele and contributing to improved production outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and manage plans for SHF/Agri-SME acquisition and growth in horticulture, crop, and livestock production.
  • Digitally onboard SHFs/Agri-SMEs through mobile app enrollment, redemption, and data upload to the web app.
  • Plan and oversee farm production with SHFs/Agri-SMEs, providing consultancy during harvest processes.
  • Collaborate closely with agronomists and off-takers to ensure business success.
  • Develop strategies to enhance agricultural production and management.
  • Assess farm production to address post-harvest loss challenges.
  • Provide agronomy advice to SHFs/Agri-SMEs for improved productivity.
  • Conduct research to enhance agricultural production and processing capabilities.
  • Facilitate timely access to improved agricultural inputs for SHFs/Agri-SMEs.
  • Maximize agricultural production in collaboration with agronomists.
  • Analyze product data with farmers, Agri-SMEs, and researchers.
  • Offer insights to drive higher agricultural yields and practical solutions.
  • Support planning, scheduling, and advisory on agricultural inputs and harvest periods.
  • Provide guidance on disease prevention and treatment for farm products.
  • Report deliverables promptly.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of 1 year of agricultural-related work experience.
  • Profound understanding of agricultural science principles.
  • Familiarity with legislation in the agricultural technology sector.
  • Proficiency in report preparation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Level 3–4 education in Agricultural Science.
